Supreme Court’s ban on the sale and stocking of firecrackers in Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR) ahead of the festive season has attracted a lot of reactions: both in favour and against the ruling. The directive is an attempt to curb the dangerous pollutions levels in the city. Many celebrities have backed the top court’s order to ban the firecrackers and Yuvraj Singh is one of the celebrities supporting the order.

Yuvraj Singh posted a video on Twitter requesting his fans and followers to celebrate a pollution-free Diwali.

While many supported Yuvi’s message, few of his followers reminded him of the fireworks at his own wedding reception.

A bench headed by Justice A.K. Sikri, while restoring the order, said: “We should see at least in one Diwali the impact of a cracker-free festivity.” However, the court said that the September 12, 2017 order lifting the ban on the sale and stocking of firecrackers in Delhi NCR will be back into effect from November 1.
