Spain Supreme Court Confirms Jail for Argentinian Super Star Lionel Messi .

MADRID : Spain supreme Court Confirmed 21- Month Jail for Messi and a fine of 2.09 million Euros for tax Fraud , months after Barcelona football star lodged an appeal.

Messi and his father Jorge Horacio Messi were found guilty of using companies in Beliza,Uruguay,Britan and Switzerland to avoid paying taxes of 4.09 million Euros from Messi image rights in 2007 -09 in July 2016.

Messi Image rights Income was being hidden which includes endorsement deals with Danone, Adidas, Pepsi— Cola, Procter & Gamble and the Kuwait Food Company.

During the trail last year Messi has Argued that he knew nothing about his finances and he trusted his father about how the money is being managed. Both Messi and his father were found guilty and Sentenced to a 21- month jail sentence which is likely to being suspended for first offences for non-violent crimes carrying a sentence of less than two year which is common in Spain.

On May 24 2017, Supreme court of Spain has confirmed the sentence for Messi, And reduced it to 15 months for his father, taking into account that his football star son had paid back the defrauded money to tax authorities.
