The long running TV show predicted a major event in an episode 20 years ago.

Simpsons have predicted a lot event’s in the past and all of them were accurate too.

They even predicted that Donald Trump would be the President Of America in an episode aired in 2000.

Back then, in that happier time, it seemed daft and improbable – nothing but a good joke.

Fast-forward 17 years, and the joke is basically on us

Other instances of Simpsons prediction  include predicting America’s Ebola breakout, corruption in FIFA and the invention of FaceTime.

And this event which happened recently was predicted two decades before.

In a deal worth £39 billion, Walt Disney agreed to take control of Rupert Murdoch’s 20 Century Fox Inc.

Aside from the fact this is a staggering and almost surreal amount of money, this news is also even more remarkable because of The Simpsons.

In the episode titled ‘When You Dish Upon A Star’ which aired on 8 November 1998, one scene showed the outside of the 20 Century Fox studio.

Beneath the famous logo it reads “A Division of Walt Disney Co.”

This was later posted on Twitter by Darren Rovell with the caption: “Disney announces it has reached a deal to acquire 21st Century Fox, as predicted by a Simpsons episode that first aired on November 8, 1998.”
