Only the vegetarians will understand the plight of getting a good vegetarian meal when travelling around the world. But getting a good vegetarian meal on board a flight is even worse.
That is what happened with Steve Hogarty who was flying on Avianca Airlines. Steve asked one of the attendants to get him a vegetarian meal. Expecting to receive a nice and hot meal, the British passenger was instead served with an apple and a pear. And what was more ridiculous was the fact that the fruits were served wrapped in clingfilm along with a fork and a knife.
Disappointed, Steve tweeted a picture of the meal served to him by the Colombian national carrier. ‘The vegetarian meal on this flight is an apple and a pear wrapped in clingfilm, served with a knife and fork,’ he wrote.

Steve’s post received an overwhelming support from other users. Many users shared their own experiences of in-flight vegetarian meal.
On a recent @British_Airways flight I asked for a vegetarian meal and they told me they had none left, but kindly offered me chicken or beef as an alternative. I eventually got given some cheese.

Avianca Airlines tried to make things right by responding to Steve’s tweet.
Service is our priority, please let us know your flight date/number and also your contact information via DM. This is not our standard so we surely will investigate as soon as possible. AC

But instead got a cheeky response from Steve.
