Recently one of the casting directors has mentioned that Nawaz was dark so we need actors who meets his complexion . He said it would be “weird” to cast a fair looking actress opposite the 43 year actor. Though the casting director denied speaking something like that he said that he just wanted an actress who could meet Nawaz’s potential on screen said Sanjay Chouhan casting director of film Babumoshai Bandookbaaz .
Chouhan, in an interview with a daily, had apparently said that after Chitrangada Singh walked out of the film, they wanted an actress who would look suitable opposite Siddiqui as “you can’t cast fair and handsome people with Nawaz. It would look so weird.”
On July 17, the actor took to his Twitter and wrote, “Thank you for making me realize that I cannot be paired along with the fair and handsome because I’m dark and not good looking, but I never focus on that,”
Twiterratis were quick to respond in support of Nawaz.
The world’s fixation with fair skin is no secret. Racism is rampant and it seems like things are no different in Bollywood. While we are all too normal in watching tall, fair and handsome men romancing equally ‘attractive’ women, with the influx of some contemporary actors it seemed like things were changing. But No things are still the same.
Talent matters the most than the color of your skin.
