The random picture that Virat Kohli recently posted on Instagram, wearing a cool set of headphones and looking outside the window from his car, how much do you think he earned for that post? Not much, just some crores.
Yeah, you read that right. For each sponsored post, Virat Kohli, who has over 16.7 million followers on Instagram, reportedly makes $500,000 (3.2 crores). That’s a whole lot.
The Indian cricket captain has a huge following on social media. Apart from 16.7 million followers on Instagram, he has over 20 million followers on Twitter and over 36 million followers on Facebook and counting.
According to Forbes magazine, Virat is the most expensive Indian athlete and earns as much as Cristiano Ronaldo and higher than football legend Lionel Messi, golf superstar Rory McIlroy and Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry.
And nobody can really complain. The right-handed batsman is at an all-time high with the Indian team having won three back-to-back series and he himself surpassing Ricky Ponting’s tally of 30 centuries and becoming the man with the second-highest ODI centuries after Sachin Tendulkar.
Arguably one of the best batsmen of all time, Kohli has led India to a lot of success ever since taking over as the captain of the side, which explains his popularity, not only in India but all over the world.
We, at Fizzle, wish him the best for his future.
