It is not possible to have a casual bike ride in Australia without any encounter with the animals. Animal related dangers are a bit high in Australia.
These six cyclists realized it late. They were just riding through the Boonah region in southeast Queensland, about an hour from Brisbane, on Friday when a kangaroo suddenly smashes into the unsuspecting female rider leaving her injured.
The video of the incident was captured by the handlebar mounted camera, it showed the moment when the large kangaroo jumped off from the bush from the right side to the other side of the road and in the process of crossing the road it collided with the female rider, Rebecca.
She was injured by the collision but the kangaroo hopped away, apparently unscathed.
“After we crested a hill, about 30km (18 miles) into the ride, we slowed for others to catch up, Two of us also saw kangaroos on both sides of the road. The ones on the left hopped away, the one on the right waited to join its mob.” one of the cyclists told
“Rebecca suffered a subluxation of the AC on her right shoulder (where the ’roo hit her) and a laceration on her left knee, but has a good laugh about it now,” a description on the original video said.
