Kangana Ranaut nails the regal look as Rani Laxmi Bai in Manikarnika

Actress Kangana Ranaut whose latest release Simran tanked at the box office is currently busy shooting for her upcoming period drama, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi in Jaipur’s Amber Fort. Kangana plays the role of Rani Laxmibai in the movie.

The pictures of her dressed as the warrior princess have leaked from the sets of the film and are doing the rounds on the social media. By the looks of these pictures, it seems that Kangana is all set to ace this role as well. The National award winner can be seen with a sword, turban and exquisite jewellery.

Kangana has completely nailed the look of a warrior in the white and gold attire and is seen carrying her sword like a true warrior.

In July, Kangana got injured on the sets while shooting a sword fighting scene for Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. She got 15 stitches on her forehead and was under medical supervision for a few days

Manikarnika is a biographical drama about Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi, who played a pivotal role in the Indian Rebellion of 1857. It has been written and directed by Vijayendra Prasad. He has earlier written blockbuster films such as ‘Baahubali’ series and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan.’

Kangana Ranaut has trained herself extensively in horse-riding and sword-fighting for the film. The film also marks the Bollywood debut of television actress Ankita Lokhande. She will be playing Jhalkari Bai, a woman soldier in Rani Laxmi Bai’s army who fought as her body double against the British. It is scheduled to hit the screens next year in April.
