The Oval London : India breeze into the semifinals of ICC Champions trophy 2017 by beating South Africa by 8 wickets. India will be the first team from Group B to reach the semi finals along side Bangladesh and England from Group A . The fourth team into the Semifinals will be decided today between Pakisthan and Srilanka .

The South Africa bowlers tried hard but it was a pretty low total that they were defending. Morkel and Tahir were the only ones who took a wicket apiece. Rabada was probing with the ball but the Men in Blue saw him through cautiously. Earlier, the top ranked side in the world didn’t play like as if they were one. They collapsed to disappoint once again in a knockout. Kudos to the Indian bowlers and fielders for setting up the game nicely and to the batsmen for living up to their reputation.

An emphatic show from India and they book their place in the semi-final. The Indian openers, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma showed intent from the beginning but a poor shot from the latter resulted in his downfall. The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli came out and took his time to get going. He was struggling a touch but got into his flamboyant self as he settled into his innings. Dhawan on the other end continued his dream run in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy to become the leading run-scorer. His was a free flowing knock which kept the crowd thoroughly entertained. The 128-run stand between the duo almost sealed the deal for the Asian side.
