London: India beat Bangladesh very easily to march into the finals of Champions trophy, and from group B it is Pakistan into the finals. You know what i’m talking about one of the biggest rivalries of cricket face each other for the prestigious trophy .
Group A was very hard competition between the four teams England,Australia,New Zealand and Bangladesh. The host’s were in very good form and in the first match against Bangladesh they beat them by 8 wickets. and the second match between Australia and New Zealand was washed away due to rain . From Group A the first team to reach the Semi Finals were England and Bangladesh. Rain did not favour the Australian side with 3 matches they played two were washed away and third one was won by England by D/L method.
In Group B we have India,South Africa,Pakistan and Srilanka. The first match of Group B was Srilanka and South Africa in which South African side showed an brilliant performance by beating Srilanka by 96 runs short. The most awaited match of Group B was India and Pakistan in which India won by 124 runs by D/L method. Group B was little tough when in one stage all the teams had the chance to qualify for the Semi’s. Every team had 2 points that is when Pakistan beat South Africa by 19 runs and India also beat South Africa with 8 wickets in hand. Finally India and Pakistan secure the positions in the semis, while Pakistan playing against England and India against Bangladesh.
The first Semi Final was between Pakistan and England where the Pakistan side showed a brilliant fielding performance which was the best from them.And they beat England by 8 wickets. It was very disappointing to see the host loosing and the second semifinal was between India and Bangladesh in which Rohit Sharma’s brilliant century and the captains knock helped India to clinch a position in the finals.
The much awaited final between the young rivals India and Pakistan is played on Jun 18 . Where two sides seem to be strong enough to face each other. It will be a ticket tout’s dream at the Kia Oval on Sunday: a Champions Trophy final, not between England and Australia as some had predicted.
