Huge ‘Click Farm’ busted in Thailand,A click farm is a form of click fraud, where a large group of low-paid workers is hired to click on paid advertising links for the click fraudster.Many Online companies have been hiring the Click Farmers to boost up their presence on the internet with fake likes and app downloads and many.

The Thailand police recently arrested three Chinese nationals Wang Dong,Niu Bang and Ni Wenjin in their house with rack of some 500 smart phones connected to computers. There were hundreds of 5S,5C and 4S Iphones. And they also found 347,200 unused sim cards belonging to Thai mobile phone operators.

They were suspected for running an fraudulent call center,but the suspects said that they were being paid by many companies to boost up their presence . We Chat is one of them, apparently We Chat is the most used social networking site in China with 700 million monthly users.And they refused to say the name of the company which were supplying them the phones ans SIMS . They were paid 150,000 Baht each to artifically boost engagement on We Chat for products sold online in China.

These men were arrested on several charges like over staying their visas,smuggling,using unregistered SIM cards and working without permit. This can result in a 5 year prison or a fine from 2000 – 100,000 baht and sometimes both.

Web giants face a constant battle to tweak their algorithms to weed out fake traffic and users.

Last month Facebook said it was making changes to its ranking algorithm to keep its users from linking to “low quality” websites, part of an effort to fight spam and misinformation.
