7 Fun Facts About Bora Bora

Bora Bora is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Known for its soft white sand beaches, crystal clear waters and sapphire blue skies, the island is appropriately nicknamed ‘The Romantic Island.’

Here are a few fun facts we bet you didn’t know about Bora Bora:

#1 The island was named Pora Pora, meaning “first born”, in the local Tahitian language.  In fact there is no “B” in the entire Tahitian language! Early European settlers thought the natives were saying Bora Bora, not Pora Pora, and that’s how the name stuck!

#2 Hawaii gets more visitors in 10 days than French Polynesia gets in an ENTIRE year!  When you are looking for peace, beauty, and adventure. French Polynesia is certainly the way to go!
