1. Divya Bharti (25 February, 1974 to 7 April, 1993)
Divya Bharti was only 19 years old when she died falling from the fifth floor of her Versova apartment. She was a rising talent in films and her death came as a huge shock for the industry. She had given commercial hits both in Telugu and Hindi languages during the early 1990s.
2. Jiah Khan (20 February, 1988 to 3 June, 2013)
Jiah Khan made her debut in the 2007 Ram Gopal Varma film, ‘Nishabd’, opposite Amitabh Bachchan. After this film, she starred in two more films, ‘Ghajini’ opposite Aamir Khan and ‘Housefull.’ Both the movies were highly successful and Jiah was praised for her acting skills in both the movies. This young and budding talent was reportedly found dead at her apartment in Juhu in June 2013 and had allegedly committed suicide.
3. Smita Patil (17 October, 1955 to 13 December, 1986)
One of the finest theatre and film actresses to have graced the Indian artistic scene; Smita Patil was the epitome of beauty and talent. Winner of two National Awards and recipient of Padma Shri, she was known for her hard-hitting persona in art films and proved equally adept in commercial cinema. However, at the age of 31 on 13th December 1986 her life was cut short due to childbirth complications and a star was lost forever.
4. Sanjeev Kumar (9 July, 1938 to 6 November, 1985):
Sanjeev Kumar was one of the most prolific and versatile Bollywood star of his generation. Having played a plethora of roles; it was nothing short of mockery by fate when the actor who played the characters of several 50-year olds to perfection never got the chance to set foot on the 50thyear of his life. He died at the age of 47 in the year 1985 due to a major heart attack thus shocking the entire film fraternity.
5. Madhubala (14 February, 1933 to 23 February, 1969)
The actress with the million-dollar smile ruled the hearts of millions in the formative years of Indian Cinema. Starting her career as a child artist with ‘Basant’ in 1942, she went onto star in numerous classics like ‘Neel Kamal’ and of course’Mughal-e-Azam’. This Bollywood star succumbed to her illness at the age of 36 leaving a void in the Bollywood Industry forever.
6. Gurudutt (9 July, 1925 to 10 October, 1964)
The actor, producer and director known for his extra-ordinary artistic sensitivity; often accredited for steering in the Golden Era of Indian Cinema died in the year 1964 at the age of 39. The tragedy king of Bollywood who starred in classics like ‘Pyaasa,’ ‘Sahib, Bibi Aur Ghulam,’ and ‘Kaagaz Ke Phool,’ committed suicide in 1964 when he was only 39.
7. Taruni Sachdev (14 May, 1998 to 14 May, 2012)
Popularly known as the Rasna girl, Taruni Sachdev passed away in a plane crash in Nepal in 2012. She was only 14 years old then, but had worked in numerous advertisements and had done films too. She had also done a remarkable role in Amitabh Bachchan starrer Paa.
