Quench your thirst at the Dora Sarchese vineyard, a winery in nearby Ortona. But the reason it is there clearly not for the “drunkards” and “louts,” they noted on the vineyard’s Facebook page. And there is no catch or gimmick the vineyards owner clearly explains the real reason.
“The wine fountain is a welcome, the wine fountain is poetry,” Dora Sarchese posted.
The vineyard is located at the end of 196 mile pilgrimage, people walk from Rome to Ortana every year on the pilgrimage to see the remains of St. Thomas, one of Jesus disciples. The fountain is a gift to anyone who finishes the journey. That’s why it is free.
And it is not just for the pilgrims, everyone is welcome here day and night seven day’s a week.
